2021 (October): The City of Chandler and the Chandler Museum, invited me to design a set of public panels for their History of Downtown project. This was a unique project in terms of its design and installation. The goal was to capture the history of Chandler within a breezeway that connected two public spaces. It was also a space that features local artists and their work on the walls. The final design, a 3-D installation, recognizes and celebrates the unique history of Chandler with a built-in flexibility to be modified in the future, if needed. I tried to capture through color and other design elements the aesthetic of that space and the work of local artists on the surrounding walls. It was a fun design challenge and glad to see it out in the world.
2020 (August): Design of the Bigger than Boxing exhibit. The subject of the exhibit is the life of Arizona heavyweight champion Zora Folley and the 1967 historic fight between Zora Folley and Muhammad Ali. The theme and inspiration is from 1960’s and 70’s graphic design, aesthetics and look. The design of the exhibit involved designing the big tile wall graphics, large and small panels, designing kiosk, standing posters, bus shelter poster, big and small reader rails, and social and digital media components. All together 70 art pieces were designed.
